Why GPC matters

Global Privacy Control is a browser-based privacy preference, commonly sent as Sec-GPC: 1, that can tell a site the user wants an applicable sale or sharing opt-out honored. In the US this is especially relevant in California-style privacy regimes where browser preference signals can matter for opt-out handling.

Some privacy-oriented browsers and extensions can send this signal. Olite currently flags missing visible GPC handling cues for US-only reviews as a public rights signal, and the deeper desktop roadmap is to test whether site behavior actually changes when that preference is present.

Enter a public page to check for cookie-policy visibility, cookie-banner cues, reject and manage-preferences options, later settings access, and obvious tracking signals. Choose whether to evaluate only US-facing privacy expectations or to include EU-style consent expectations as well. This hosted pass is capped at 2 free scans per day. This is not legal advice.

This hosted scan is a surface check. It can spot tracker tags and cookie controls that are visible on the page, but it cannot prove from the website alone whether the site truly waits for your choice before tracking.

The stronger browser check lives in the desktop app, where Olite can click reject, reload the page, and watch what requests or cookies appear next.

Run a first-pass cookie scan

You will get a lightweight summary of cookie-facing signals, surfaced issues, tracking detections, and scan limitations for the URL you submit.

Scope

Plain-English cookie checks from the outside

This hosted cookie scan checks what a visitor can see from the outside: the cookie policy path, the banner wording, whether reject and settings are easy to spot, and whether known tracker tags are present on the page.

  • 2 free hosted scans per day
  • Focused on visible cookie-policy and banner checks
  • Useful for quick pre-launch cookie reviews and prospect audits
  • Does not prove whether the site waits for your choice before tracking

Next Step

What this can and cannot confirm

Use this page for an honest first pass. If you need proof about whether tracking starts before consent, whether reject sticks after reload, or whether a consent platform behaves properly after clicks, that stronger browser check belongs in the desktop app.

  • Treat this as a public-page cookie audit, not a full consent-platform verification.
  • The strongest cookie findings still come from runtime browser checks in the desktop workflow.
  • Use the result to tighten cookie-policy visibility, reject paths, and later preference access.

Other Free Tools

Use the free scans to test the site. Then download the app.

Olite is leading with free public-page checks so the product stays concrete: accessibility, cookie, and privacy standards. The hosted tools are capped at 2 free scans per day, and the desktop app is the path to broader local-first scanning after that.
